Um...this place rocks!

So I'm not one to preach or share my testimony very often but today was awesome.  I've had some awesome experiences in the temple that I won't go into at this time but just know...I know, this place rocks.

As some of you might not know Les and I having been looking for a house for some time now.  We found a house we really liked in Magna.  It was in a newer neighborhood, quite street, close the freeway (which meant closer to my parents...ya!) and close to Les' work. It was a short sale and we were the first to put on offer in on it.  The agent told us that unlike most short sales this house was going to go through really fast....so we were hopeful.  We wanted to get a house in time to qualify for the tax credit.  We put our offer in at the first of March hoping to hear something by the end of March.

Well, the end of March rolled around and he hadn't hear anything.  Each week the agent would call and tell us the bank needed some other document and it was going to 7-10 days before we heard something.  Well, we heard this exact thing for about 7 weeks.  With the end of April rapidly approaching Les and I started looking for another house and we found one we could "live with" in Kearns.  It wasn't the best neighborhood but the house was nice and we could make it work.  We put an offer in and heard back right away.  We went "under contract" on this house and started moving foward hoping we'd hear something back from the Magna house in time to get the tax credit...but so far nothing.

Today was the last day to qualify for the tax credit and you needed to be "under contract" by the end of the day to qualify.  This morning we woke up checked our email to see if there was any word....nothing.  Les and I talked about how we liked the Kearns house okay and we could do a lot to it and make it work while I finished up pharmacy school.  We were pretty bummed we never heard anything from the Magna house, cuz it had everything we wanted but we started coming to terms with the news and started talking about all the things we would do the Kearns house.  I had a pretty busy day so I kissed Les goodbye and headed for swim lessons.

After swim lesson Eden and I went to Aunt Jilene's house for a play day.  Marcia and Tracy meet us there with Brennen and Ever.  The kiddies had a fun afternoon planned with the aunts (except the weather foiled the orginal plans...booo)  and Marcia and I headed to the temple to do a session.  We didn't make in time for the 12:00 session so we decided to initiatories instead.  I haven't done initiatories since I did it for myself the first time I went through.  It was great to do them again and remember all the things I had forgotten and it was nice to spend some time at the temple.  I don't think I've gone since Eden was born.  We left the temple, cups filled, and headed to save the aunts (without another thought of the house situation). 

On my way to work I got a phone call from my husband that went something like this...
Me: what's up?
Les (VERY excited...I'd say almost giddie): WE GOT THE HOUSE!
Me: I know...(a little confused...)
Les: No...we got the MAGNA house!
Me: Are you lying to me?!  I have to go...I need to call Julie (my SIL and real estate agent)
Les: shut up
Me: You know why we got this house?
Les: why?
Me: Cuz I went to the temple today.
Les: You think?
Me: Uh...ya!  I prayed extra hard
Les: um...

I don't know if he believed it or not but I sure do.  How is it that I after not hearing a word for weeks I just so happen to go to the temple today and we heard something...in the 5th hour, just in the knick of time to qualify for the tax credit?  Coincidence? I think not!

SEVEN months old!

Exactly a year ago today was probably one of the happiest days of my life...I found out I was having a little girl.  I remember laying on the ultrasound bed full of nerves thinking they were going to find something wrong with my baby.  I was so excited to finally get to see my baby and find out the sex (I only got one ultrasound my whole pregnancy).  I remember the ultrasound tech asking us if we wanted to find out the sex and being a little nervous about how I was going to feel if it was a boy.  (I had secretly been wanting a girl but since the Rose family had nothing but boys, I just knew I was going to be disappointed)  Then the technician showed us a bottom shot and asked us if we knew what we were looking at and I quietly said "Is it a girl?!"  "Yup...it's a girl!"  Sheila and Tracy were with us and all three of us screamed in delight.  Les on the other hand was dead silent.  The technician asked him what he thought and he said "I need to go buy a gun and LOTS of bullets."  I still fear for my poor daughter to this day...watch out boys.

Each month the 24th rolls around and each month my little girl gets bigger and older.  I'm so sad I don't have my sweet little baby that cuddles and sleeps most the day but I'm having so much fun watching Eden's little personality shine through. Here are some of the things I'll remember about her at this age:

*She a rolling master...although she can only roll one direction.  She'll roll until she gets stuck or rolls under something and then she cries to be saved
*She loves to spit her tounge.  She thinks it hilarious.  Les will be feeding her a bottle and she'll spit the bottle out and spit her tounge at him, then laugh and eat again. 
*She loves to throw toys and have you get them.  If she throws something really far she is so proud of herself and laughs as you go get it.
*She LOVES her mama...sometimes too much.  We are having a serious case of seperation anxiety.  If I put her down and walk away she screams bloody murder.  If you didn't know better you would think Bronson had hit her with something....but no she just wants mama ALL the time.
*Eden loves to cuddle in bed...she hasn't been sleeping well throughout the night (see seperation anxiety comment) and so in the morning when I just can't get up I throw her in bed with me and turn on cartoons (I know...awesome parenting there!) but she loves to be next to mom and will nussle her head into my chest and smile....it melts my heart and I can't be mad at her for waking me up ALL night.
*Eden loves her cousins and little kids for that matter.  She loves to watch little kids play.  She loves to reach for them and hold their hands...it's very cute.
*Eden can say mamma and dadda but this only seems to happen when she is really upset.  She'll yell for mamma when I'm at work or trying to go to sleep and she'll yell for dadda when she's hurt. 
*When Eden is really tired and fighting it, she loves to be sung to.  She will even sing along.  She will snuggle up next to you and hold really still so she can listen to the song.  I love to sing to her, although I wish I knew more primary songs....I may need to bust out the songbook. 

We love her to pieces and I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing then spending my days and waking up all night to see her pretty face.

 

On a side note...on Saturday I had to take Brittan to his baseball game.  Orginally I thought I would be on my own since Les had to work but since the lawn he was going to go do didn't need to be done he tagged along.  I'm proud to say that we made it through the baseball game without an incident...and got this very cute picture.

A Day at the Park

This past week we have been running around like crazy.  I LOVE that the weather has warmed up cuz it means we get to go outside!  Eden loves it outside and wants to be out there any chance she gets. On Saturday we decided to go to my nephew Braxton's baseball game to cheer him on.  So we put on our park attire.

This is the first time Eden has worn shorts and I l.o.v.e. her fat little legs.  I just pinch them all day long.

It was also a little windy so I was teaching Eden how to hang on to her hat so it didn't fly away.

Here we are enjoying the nice spring day at the park.  Ahhh the fresh air! Cousin Brittan LOVES to hold Eden and he is her favorite. 

Whenever I don't have Eden, my lap is quickly taken by this kid! Little did we know our time at the park would be cut short soon after this picture was taken.

Well, the game we went to for Braxton was Herriman vs. Riverton, which is a big rival.  At the top of the 4th inning Braxton pitched a homerun and the Riverton team started FREAKING out. They were screaming and yelling and making a big to do.  No sweat Brax you'll get them next time.  Well, then Braxton's next pitch was homerun.  The kid ran around the bases yelling "you suck" and the whole team was hooting and hollering again.  So Chad (braxton's dad/coach) went out to pull him and Braxton told him he wanted one more pitch.  Well, he aimed right for the batters head (and fortunately missed), which caused an uproar from the Riverton team.  The Riverton coach started yelling at Braxton and so Chad told him that's what happens when your team acts that way.  Well, apparently the ump didn't like the way Chad was talking back to the Riverton coach and threw him out of the game.

Meanwhile, my husband is on the sidelines talking to the Riverton 3rd base coach about how he needed to get his team under control and tell them to act right otherwise there was going to be more pitches thrown at kids' heads.  Well, the 3rd base coach was really cool and told Les he didn't see what had happened and he was going to talk to his team...(fire extinguished)

THEN, the ump walked over to the sideline where Chad and Les were now standing talking about how Chad had been thrown out for no reason. The ump told Chad he had to leave the park.  He couldn't stay and watch the game.  This got Les ALL fired up again and so he started telling (he wasn't angry just matter-of-a-factly) the ump he needed to get the kids under control and make them stop taunting the other team.  The ump had a real short fuzz and told Les to be quite or he was going to get thrown out too.  Les told him he needed to do his job and get the Riverton kids under control.  "THAT'S IT YOUR OUT!" to which my husband replied "SUCK THIS!" (while grabbing his crotch...classy...I know...I adverted my eyes and played the "I dont' know this man standing next to me" card) The ump then blew a fuse and about climbed the fence screaming "YOU CAN'T TALK TO AN UMP LIKE THAT....WHO ARE YOU ROUTING FOR?! THEY ARE GOING TO FORFEIT....YOU BETTER GET OUTTA HERE NOW!"  without giving Les a chance to leave the ump forfeited the game.

This caused an uproar from the Herriman parents and made one of the Herriman players charge the ump (not a pretty sight).  The parents started yelling at Les to beat it and getting very upset.  We quickly packed our bags and left.  Not a proud wife moment...and a quick end to Eden's 1st baseball experience. 

Needless to say, Les and I had a LONG talk about how he's actions were VERY inappropriate, especially since he was surrounded by children.  Les felt horrible after we left and spent the rest of the day appologizing for his actions....oh my husband!

BESIDES that wonderful experience at the park we had a very fun day.  We went back home and took off our sun hat and hung out in the backyard.

please notice this is the shirt and bow I made for my beautiful daughter...(nicely done!) I have been very crafty lately and have busting out the crafts like nobody's buisness.  Here are a few things I've done.

I've recently nailed the bow making skills and I LOVE to make my baby some bows.

I came up with this design on my own.  I'm still not sure how I feel about them.

On another note, lately Eden has been loving on Bronson and he has been tolerant of her.  On Monday I was watching Bronson and he INSISTED he take a bath with Eden. 

They had a blast.  They splashed each other and played with toys while I cleaned the bathroom.  I would say it was a win win situation.  These two are going to be great friends!

A Case of the Crafties

So this weekend I went up to Ogden to get Eden's 6 month pictures taken (which by the way are A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!) and while I was up there I decided I was going to be crafty and BOY was I!  Here's what I did. 

I started off making leggings for Eden.  A color for every occasion.  Thank you Amy and your enlightenment of Prudent Baby (the best website ever!) This is uber easy.  I just got women's knee high sock and cut off the foot and hemmed around the raw edge...done! Oh, by the way all of this only cost me $8 at Target.

While I was being crafty here is how my daughter entertained herself....

She seriously just sat there and watched the ducks for like an hour....

These ducks come and knock on my mom's back door to get some food and Eden was enjoying the show...that is until Dixie chased them away and then took guard on the back porch for the rest of the day.

Marcia and I went to the fabric store to get some fabric for some projects...well, we left the store without a single scrap of fabric for the projects we were doing but instead we left with a pattern and some adorable fabric to make this...

pretty freaking cute, if I do say so myself!  We busted this out on Monday afternoon (I won't tell you exactly how long but it was our first go around...next time it will be a breeze)

Today when I was putting the finishing touches on my purse I had Bronson go ahead and whip us up some lunch. This is what he came up with...

Easter

Easter was very fun...I, however, was very lazy and didn't take very many pictures.  We headed up to Ogden on Saturday for Easter with my parents.  My mom is so lovely that she gives all the grandkids their Easter baskets so I didn't have to do one...go me!

My mom got Brennen and Bennett the dragons for How to Train a Dragon.  Brennen was stoked!

Well since it was Easter that mean the annual egg hunt!  This year did not disappoint.  When Les and I were pulling up to my parents house my dad was scaling up the side of the house (note...my father is 50!)  Well, I pulled up thinking..."what the heck is my dad doing climbing up the side of the house..." Then I remembered the "golden eggs".  Five bucks each.  Score!  So you better believe I got that egg.  I don't have any pictures of the egg hunt because...well I was too busy hunting eggs down.  Les and I made out with 26 dollars.  I even have battle wounds to prove it.

You can't really see but my whole arm is scraped up.  Tracy and I were battling over an egg and it involved a lot of pushing and pulling against some brick...I don't even remembered how ended up with the egg.  Either way it was fun...love it!

Sunday was way more low key.  I spent the day watching conference and hanging out in the pjs.  My parents came down and watched the second half with me but I didn't take one single picture that day. Sheila came over during the break and of course spoiled Eden with a walker and a leap frog play table but I will have to get pictures of her in them for another post. 

On a completely different Miss Eden loves Dixie.  She squeals everytime she sees her.  Dixie is still not so sure about Eden.  I will say, however, she is much more tolerant of Eden than most kids.  I think this friendship will eventually come around.

Party in a Box!

So in regards to my last post...the top secret stuff we were doing while I was up at my parent's for the weekend was getting things together for Natalie's big birthday surprise.  Since Natalie no longer lives in Utah and this was her first birthday away from home, we decided to do something special. Unbeknown to Natalie, I was in ca-hoots with her boyfriend in planning a big birthday surprise.  My family decided to send her a Party in a Box.  Basically it has everything she needed to throw herself a birthday bash...Hutchison style.

And what's a party without a theme?  Can you guess what the theme was?

Asain Delight...that's right. We even made her signs that said Happy Birthday in Chinese (totally my idea!)

I also came up with a briliant idea.  As you all know we Hutchisons love us some awesome birthday cake.  So I made Natalie a step by step guide on how we wanted her to make her birthday cake.

It was a sushi roll and it was awesome.

I put it all together in a booklet.  If you can't read the title page...here is what it says. "How to Make a FABULOUS Birthday Cake by the Hutchisons. A step by step informational guide on how to make your birthday cake. Follow Directions Exactly. DO NOT look ahead. Most importantly have Fun! We love you and miss you...ya I rock! 

I even provided her with all the ingredients she needed to successfully pull this cake off.

My mom got Natalie this awesome tea pot as a birthday gift.  So cool right?

We put the rest of her presents in these.  Man, we are so freaking cool...if I do say so myself. 

So we boxed all this stuff up and sent it to Natalie's boyfriend's house.  On her birthday he picked her up and took her to his house where he had put up all the decorations.  She was totally shocked.  She kept asking him if one of us was going to pop out of the closet. Pretty much it was the best birthday she has ever had.  Your Welcome!  Then to top it off....get a load of this...her boyfriend bought her a plot of land in Scotland!  So she would have the title of "Lady"....seriously.  I'm not kidding.  Natalie is now officially Natalie Hutchison Lady of Guenivere (I dont' know how to spell the name of the place)  Who buys someone land for their birthday?!  There is even paper work to prove it.  Well, of course Natalie loved it...

While were getting all this stuff together Bennett and Eden decided to have some fun. Bennett totally crawls in there by himself and Eden was L.O.V.I.N.G. it

 

Then Ever decided to join the fun.

On a completely different and unrelated note...the other day I was watching Bronson and he kept begging me to go outside.  He kept saying, "I go to baseball practice"  So we bundled up and headed out.  Eden looked adorable as always and so I HAD to get a couple shots of her.  Love this girl!
